This is a time when so many of us are making plans for future travel and scheduling as much travel as we can fit into our schedules as soon as we can feel comfortable hitting the skies and rails again. Fortunately for us, Rail Europe has just released a mobile version of the famous Eurail Passes through its API and agents’ website. These passes allow travelers to easily commute between 33 countries on several railways with only one pass.

Rail Europe is part of e.Voyageurs SNCF, and is the world’s No. 1 distributor of train tickets and passes. They are the business and technology partner of more than 20,000 travel professionals in 70 countries – with a train booking website and app that is available in 30 countries. We love that these train journeys include 25,000 destinations and 11,000 routes. Your options are seemingly endless with Rail Europe.

Travelers will have to download an app and enter their name and pass number, and they will then be able to foresee their itinerary, plan for journeys and keep all groups or families’ passes in one space. In the app, travelers create day tickets for each trip they make and that they show to the ticket inspectors. This procedure in the app replaces the paper travel diary that was used with the paper Eurail Pass.

Rail Europe will train its travel agent partners in order for them to offer this new product. Dedicated videos, webinars and training modules will be deployed in the coming weeks. On a positive note, this should all be happening smoothly by the time you’re ready to hit the rails for a multi-city and multi-country vacation getaway.

“It is a great upgrade on the customer’s experience that we are offering to our numerous Eurail Pass travelers. Mobile passes are the future as they avoid printing paper tickets and are safer as they allow for contactless ticket inspections. The app is really easy to use and we are sure that our partners will adapt in no time”, says Florence Pasquier, Head of business at Rail Europe.

There are two versions of the Eurail pass: The Global Pass, which allows travelers to travel around 33 countries in a determined period of time; and The One Country Pass for visiting a specific European country. More than 300,000 travelers chose to travel with a Eurail pass each year. Rail Europe restates its commitment to being always greener and offering new customer-friendly solutions.
