It’s always refreshing to see just how many of the hotels come together to support great causes each year. One of these leading causes occurs each October, when they come together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Several favorites include pink-themed drinks, afternoon teas, desserts, flowers and more that hotels across the globe create to provide ways for their guests to enjoy the best the hotels have to offer, while also supporting a great cause. Fortunately, many hotels of all sizes are eager to get involved; making it easier than ever for more guests to get involved. The Peninsula Hotels continue to lead the way by showcasing how a global hotel brand can be supportive internally, while also encouraging millions more to get involved. Join the effort on social media using: #PenInPink #ArtOfPink
2015 is the fifth anniversary of the annual Peninsula In Pink campaign, and this year has become recognized as the Art of Pink. Pink is a color of compassion and inspiration, and The Peninsula Hotels continue to prove this is truer than ever before. Bringing the hotel’s dedication to support global innovative arts initiatives together with the ongoing support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, each hotel will be exhibiting exclusive pink-inspired pieces of artwork. After the exhibitions, these pink masterpieces will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the selected breast cancer charity partners. In traditional Peninsula fashion, the hotel facades are artfully illuminated in pink, flowers throughout the properties have a pink hue to them, staff wears a special pink ribbon pin, and the delicious pink additions to afternoon tea, drinks and the regular menu.
AFTERNOON TEA:
While there are a number of great food and drink options offered by The Peninsula Hotels during the month of October to further support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a favorite is the fabulous afternoon tea selections that never disappoint even the most discerning of afternoon tea connoisseurs. During October, guests at The Lobby of each hotel will have the pleasure of savoring a creatively themed Art of Pink Peninsula Afternoon Tea that is finished off beautifully with rosé wines and Champagnes.
At each hotel, the inventive pastry chefs add their own delicious twist to the rose-tinted Afternoon Tea selection. This year’s pink delights include strawberry tomato panna cotta at The Peninsula New York, pink eclairs at The Peninsula Shanghai and sakura macarons at The Peninsula Tokyo, while guests at The Peninsula Bangkok can savor white truffle egg mimosa with cucumber on a pink baguette. Additionally, always a personal favorite, The Peninsula Chicago even has one special day (October 9) where they include a dash of fashion by presenting Pink Afternoon Tea Fashion with Saks Fifth Avenue on Michigan Avenue.
SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITIES:
As a company that thinks globally but acts locally, The Peninsula Hotels will again donate a percentage of all proceeds raised in October from the campaign to local breast cancer charity partners. Beyond the creation of pink-inspired afternoon teas, cocktails, dining and spa promotions and special events, each hotel also donates a portion of these proceeds to local breast cancer organizations.
