Renovations at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, commenced in January, welcoming the resort’s 25th anniversary year with even more opportunities for providing an elevated experience for its guests. Renovations are expected to take place through May 2025.

The Central California resort – which is both a pet- and family-friendly destination – spans 78 acres and features 358 guest rooms and suites. It is home to a pair of natural beaches, lush gardens, a 42,000-sq.-ft. spa and wellness center, three salt-water infinity pools, and five culinary venues. As part of the renovation, the resort’s pool experience will be completely revamped just in time for summertime guests seeking California sunshine, with fresh furniture and private cabanas. Finishes and furnishings of all rooms and suites will also be updated, in addition to the collection of on-site culinary experiences.
Throughout the entire resort, the Chumash people, the original stewards of this land, have inspired many of the stunning design elements. Guests of The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, will experience subtle references to Chumash art and culture, including a series of art installations and exhibits, custom-designed textiles, native flora, and interior details that reflect the area’s indigenous roots.
