The iconic 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, driven by Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s beloved 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street, will soon be available for purchase via auction. Industry-leading auction house Sotheby’s is bringing one of the most memorable vehicles in modern cinematic history to New York for auction this December during Luxury Week, and it can be yours for the right price.

The white Bianco Polo over Bianco Countach (chassis number KLA12722) represented the pinnacle of wealth and success for Jordan Belfort, the infamous real-life “Wolf” whom DiCaprio portrayed in the Oscar-nominated film. Only 12 are believed to have been made of this rare white beauty, making it one of the most coveted and most iconic automobiles of the past 50 years — a true gem in any car collector or cinephile’s collection.

Two versions of the car were used for the film: one that was memorably destroyed by DiCaprio during an inebriated nighttime drive to the country club and a second pristine “hero car” that remains immaculate and unharmed. Thankfully it is the latter version that Sotheby’s is auctioning off to the highest bidder later this year.

“The ‘Wolf’ Countach… perfectly embodies what we set out to accomplish when we decided to host a sale during Sotheby’s Luxury Week,” Global Head of Auctions at RM Sotheby’s Gord Duff says, “Scorsese, DiCaprio, Lamborghini, and New York all make for an incredible pedigree.” The sale will feature other rare and unique collectible cars, each “with a degree of provenance, low mileage, or one-off specifications,” Duff says.

The estimated value of the car is between $1,500,000-$2,000,000 USD, and this private boutique auction will be held on December 8, 2023, during Sotheby’s Luxury Week, a multi-category sales series that showcases the rarest and most prized jewelry, watches, collector cars, designer handbags, books and manuscripts, collectibles, and more.
