Welcome To The Jungle: The first luxury boutique hotel to open in India’s Corbett Park, Kipling’s inspiration for The Jungle Book… In India’s north – the state of Uttarakhand to be exact, about 145 miles from New Delhi – there lies the beautiful Jim Corbett National Park, one of India’s oldest parks and a sanctuary for Bengal tigers. And while one is keen to mingle with the tigers, crocodiles, wild elephants and other animal species during the day, it’s a relief to have your own safe sanctuary at night. This is where The Park Corbett Hotel will come in.
Destined to be a part of Design Hotels, this will be the first branded luxury boutique property set to open in the Park. Part of The Park Hotels brand – the pioneers of boutique luxury hotels in India – The Park Corbett is set to be a modern design masterpiece, sitting comfortably alongside its other brothers and sisters in the collection located in Goa, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Visakhapatnam and Marrakech.
But Park Hotels are not only known for luxury, they’re also bastions of hip and their hotels house some of India’s most inventive restaurants, liveliest bars and nightclubs, and stylish spaces. We expect The Park Corbett to possess this same cool factor. With only 40 rooms spread out over 6.5 acres of land, lakes and landscaped gardens, the hotel is set to open in winter 2016 with 18 round cottages, two premium round cottages with indoor plunge pools, two tree houses, 14 villas with private gardens and outdoor living spaces and four “hut-like” cottages.
Amenities will be equally distinct, including spaces in the rooms to sit and observe nature and safaris run by the in-house naturalists. Original art, natural locally-sourced materials and premium dining will also be on offer. Now here’s the best part: Rates are expected to start at only £100 (or $145 USD) per night.
