We have all watched Miami continue to explode with amazing new places to stay, dine and be entertained, and this is also true in everyone’s beloved South Beach. With over-the-top luxury hotel options around every corner, it’s still nice to be able to discover an authentic South Beach hotel that still provides those special amenities, services and overall high level of service that we demand. One of these art deco options making headlines for very good reasons is The Marlin Hotel, located in the heart of it all on Collins Avenue.
History
The building was originally developed in 1939 by L. Murray Dixon, a principal architect who defined Deco South Beach design that we all still love, and is what makes this little area of Miami so special. Nestled in the heart of the city’s celebrated Art Deco District, The Marlin Hotel remains a signature South Beach landmark. MRK’s modern restoration has revitalized the prominent property and added 33 state-of-the-art rooms and suites, while staying true to the iconic location’s historic roots.
In the 1990’s, the hotel was transposed into a tropical retreat for some of the world’s most renowned recording artists and performers. Music legends like Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani and many more have made their way to The Marlin to stay, play and produce their music at property’s in-house recording studio. This kind of unique history is just another reason that The Marlin Hotel is so uniquely special to so many South Beach locals and tourists.
Rooms & Suites
The rooms and suites are luxurious and spacious. Redesigned to create a home away from home, these rooms are heightened by the contemporary style, custom- designed furniture and fixtures, wood floors and serene color palette. Each room is a detailed reflection of Miami’s tropical surrounding… from the hand-selected pillows and rugs to the coastal-inspired artwork curated for each room. While all of the rooms are a great place to lay your head when in South Beach, the favorite is definitely the Premier Corner Suite for the beautiful design and great views out onto the lively South Beach scene outside.
Food & Drink
Begin your morning with a lovely continental breakfast. Don’t worry if you are worried about eating too much before hitting the beach for the ultimate people watching experience in South Beach, they offer great light options that are diet friendly. You don’t have to leave the hotel to enjoy a great meal later in the day too. Established in 1987, Osteria Del Teatro is now on property, and focuses on Northern Italian Cuisine with a strong seafood influence. Using the finest and freshest ingredients available, Osteria Del Teatro offers homemade breads, fresh pastas and desserts every day, including a full bar with handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list.
