Luxury is defined in different ways by different people. It could be a sybaritic indulgence like that new Lambo, a Patek Philippe timepiece, a few more baubles from Harry Winston, or the latest Hermes luggage set. But when one realizes that the most luxurious commodity in the word is time, you’ll want to spend it wisely. The Abaco Club on Winding Bay in the Bahamas is a place for you to shed the cares and stress of your life and have the freedom to relax in paradise and create precious memories with your beloved partner or family. It’s a members-only lifestyle and sporting club, offering cabana suites, villas, luxury flats and homesites for sale to secure your vacation dreams. The club boasts a Scottish-style 18 hole golf course, tennis, biking, miles of beach, watersports, fishing and yachting right out your door.

The casual Flippers Beach Bar, an open-air restaurant and bar on the beach, is the Abaco Club’s epicenter for gathering. Here you can have a leisurely breakfast and lunch or an oceanfront libation. Each day the bartenders are challenged to create a new drink to surprise the members. Affable Theresa Lowe is one of the top bartenders and has been at The Abaco Club property for over 12 years. She knows the members like family and was born and raised right here on Great Abaco Island. Theresa created this delicious version of the famous Rum Punch one day then I was there, and was kind enough to share it with LuxeGetaways. A refreshing mix of rums and juices, it’s just the thing on a hot Bahamanian afternoon.
