LuxeGetaways Magazine – Spring 2017 | There are certain destinations that simply pull you into their world from the moment you step out of the car; where you find yourself forgetting about all of the stress and headaches of the outside world. The story begins here at The Boca Raton Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort… a destination rich in history and traditions, offering some of the highest levels of amenities and services I have seen in some time by a staff eager to not only satisfy the requests and expectations of guests, but to exceed them. You must be either a Club member or resort guest to take advantage of the resort’s dining, activities and amenities – creating an unmistakable feeling of being at a private Club during your stay.

The resort’s 80-year history and flawless management by the Waldorf Astoria combine to create a uniquely different kind of resort destination that is ideal for the entire family. Entering the gates of the resort, Boca Raton is a destination that has a much more intimate feeling of ‘community’ than many of the other resort destinations – where members and vacationers come together seamlessly to enjoy this Florida escape. The name Mizner is everywhere around town, so it is no surprise to learn that this prestigious resort was designed by Addison Mizner himself.

A total of five very distinctive accommodation options offer a variety in terms of budget, location, view, amenities and more. The Tower offers 27 stories of modern rooms and suites; The Cloisters are beautifully refurbished rooms in the historical portion of the hotel; The Boca Bungalows provide a community environment with residential-styled units; The Yacht Club is always a popular choice with sensational views (try to book a room with access to the Commodore Executive Level); and finally my personal favorite, the Beach Club rooms and suites provide the best of all worlds with direct access to the beach and multiple pools. Though there are many reasons to visit The Boca Raton Resort & Club, here are our top five reasons to plan your own getaway.

1. 501 East

This is what resort dining is all about… enjoy classic American cuisine in a posh yet casual atmosphere. They are best known for their burgers at lunch and dinner, but the steaks and seafood are superior to any restaurant in Boca Raton. Arrive hungry and be prepared for a feast (and take advantage of their extensive wine list). Ideal for a group, family or couple, this restaurant will certainly not disappoint!

2. Beach Club

This is where you can truly appreciate the level of services and amenities at the pools and beach. The private cabanas are not glamorous, but service is impeccable and you can have food and cocktails delivered at any time. Be sure to enjoy an amazing ice coffee from SNACK, which is next to the fitness center by the main pool; and visit OCEAN BAR upstairs for a drink on the terrace overlooking the pools and beach.

3. Golf

From the very first tee shot, there is just something special about this course; and it has just recently reopened after a total renovation that revamped the irrigation, grass, bunkers, practice facility and overall playability for golfers of all levels. Being one of the oldest courses in Florida, it has that old-school feel with mature trees and foliage that makes for a scenic round of golf. It is certainly not a long course, but is guaranteed to keep you on your toes at every shot.

4. Sea Level

Imagine having your own king-size bed on the beach for the day while at the Beach Club – along with plush pillows, lush linens, personal beach attendant, refreshments throughout the day, complimentary hand and foot massages by a reflexologist, individual cell phone charging equipment, sunglass cleaning, a waterproof cellphone pouch, and an Aquavault safe to protect your belongings while out for a stroll or swim. This is the ultimate beach outing!

5. The Spa

One of the larger spas found at resorts today, the Spa is an oasis of luxury with 44 treatment rooms and over-the-top men’s and women’s locker rooms, lounges and the opulent termes (wet rooms). I encourage those seeking an authentic spa journey to begin with their specialty 50-minute Ritual Bath. Inquire about their Spa Packages and personalized services to take full advantage of the spa experience.
