The property will join Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto, the Mantarraya residential community, and TPC Danzante Bay within the larger Danzante Bay development. Architecture Inspired by Loreto
Mexico-based architecture firm Broissin is designing Mailena to reflect the meeting of the Baja desert and the Sea of Cortez. Locally sourced stone, warm wood, curved forms, and a restrained earth-toned palette will draw from the colors and contours of the surrounding landscape. The property will be divided into three interconnected zones, each centered around a defining architectural element.
A living olive tree will anchor the lobby as a symbol of resilience and longevity, while a cenote-inspired water feature will form the center of the Wellness & Longevity Center. The signature restaurant will offer panoramic sea views and incorporate an indoor-outdoor pool into its design. “We were inspired by the mystical relationship between desert and sea in Loreto,” says David Suárez, architect and partner at Broissin. “The resort is a tribute to the region’s natural contours and undulating topography, with wellness at its core.”
The Wellness & Longevity Center
Mailena’s defining feature will be its Wellness & Longevity Center, home to the property’s signature “WellSpan” philosophy. Developed in collaboration with medical experts, the concept will combine personalized health assessments with movement, recovery, modern technology, and restorative treatments. Programs will be tailored to individual goals, allowing guests to create a structured itinerary or incorporate specific services throughout their stay.
Planned facilities include hydrotherapy circuits, sensory deprivation tanks, biohacking suites, steam rooms, saunas, and a snow room for contrast therapy. Guests will also have access to yoga and Pilates studios, a modern fitness center, and specialized treatments such as shiatsu massage performed in a warm-water pool. The program is intended to make longevity practices approachable, practical, and easy to integrate into a luxury vacation.

Mailena’s 96 accommodations will include suites, casitas, and one-bedroom penthouses designed to promote restful sleep and physical recovery. Natural textures and subtle colors will reflect Loreto’s coastal and desert surroundings.
The property will also feature an oceanfront pool, a beach club, and gathering spaces oriented toward the Sea of Cortez and surrounding mountains. Broissin’s design places the landscape at the center of the guest experience, with open spaces and sweeping views throughout the resort. Mailena’s relatively intimate size should also allow for highly personalized service and programming.

Mailena’s panoramic restaurant and bar will overlook the Sea of Cortez, with a culinary program centered on seasonal ingredients from Baja California Sur. Menus will feature whole foods and functional dishes created to complement guests’ personal health goals. More indulgent selections and thoughtfully chosen wines will also be available, allowing each traveler to shape the dining experience around their own preferences.
