Kai Holo Spa has opened at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, introducing a new wellness destination shaped by Hawaiian traditions, Maui’s natural landscape, and modern health technology. Translating to “flowing tide” in Hawaiian, the spa guides guests through aquathermal experiences, island-inspired treatments, advanced facials, fitness classes, and longevity services in one comprehensive setting.

An Aquathermal Center Inspired by Maui

FS Maui Kai Holo Spa -Aquathermal Shower

At the heart of Kai Holo Spa is a shared aquathermal center designed around the restorative effects of water, temperature, light, and movement. A sculptural wall of cleft black granite references Maui’s volcanic landscape, while softly illuminated pathways and cascading water establish a tranquil setting for the spa’s thermal circuit. Three hydrotherapy pools anchor the experience: a vitality pool, a therapeutic hot pool, and a cold plunge. Guests can continue through a steam room, a multisensory-experience shower, an infrared sauna, and a sanarium, moving between warm and cool environments as part of a contrast-therapy journey intended to support recovery and relaxation. Light and color also play an important role throughout the aquathermal center, relaxation lounge, and treatment rooms. The spa uses visible light to complement the body’s circadian rhythms, helping to balance energy levels and create a more immersive experience.

Pacific Journeys Draw From Hawaiian Traditions

Kai Holo Spa’s signature Pacific Journeys connect treatments to the natural ingredients, cultural traditions, and landscapes of Hawaii. Each ritual incorporates a different combination of locally inspired botanicals, massage techniques, mineral-rich ingredients, and sensory elements.

Kai Holo Signature Oceanside Ritual

The Kai Holo Signature Oceanside Ritual takes place in an open-air treatment hale above Wailea Beach. Inspired by the rhythm of Hawaii’s tides, the experience begins with a warm black sea-salt foot soak, followed by a polish made with resort-harvested honey and sugar, a kukui oil massage, and a soothing scalp ritual. The traditional-style oceanfront hales are surrounded by naupaka hedges, with coastal breezes and the sounds of the ocean becoming part of the treatment.

Piko Mālama Wahine is a nurturing ritual centered around women’s wellness, particularly during periods of transition. The treatment incorporates a warm herbal poultice made with honey, lemon balm, chamomile, and lavender, followed by a flowing kukui oil massage and amla oil scalp ritual.

The Spirulina & Astaxanthin Ocean Detox Body Ritual begins with dry brushing and continues with a warm seaweed and Hawaii-grown spirulina wrap. A lomi lomi massage using astaxanthin-infused oil completes the treatment, with an emphasis on hydration, remineralization, and renewed radiance.

Inspired by the resort’s Queen’s Garden, the Queen’s Garden Fern Ritual incorporates native fern oil sourced from Kauai and a selection of island botanicals. A warm lava mask is applied along the spine and feet, then the body is wrapped in ti leaves to encourage deep relaxation and release.

Advanced Facials and Therapeutic Bodywork

Beyond the Pacific Journeys, Kai Holo Spa offers a wide selection of massages, body treatments, mindfulness services, and skincare experiences. Traditional and Hawaiian-inspired bodywork appears alongside treatments designed for deep muscle recovery, sleep support, prenatal wellness, and targeted relief.

The facial menu combines advanced skincare with biohacking technology. Options include biohacking facials, cryotherapy treatments, contouring services, and HydraDerm experiences, allowing treatments to be selected according to individual skincare goals. Guests can also book refinement rituals focused on exfoliation, hydration, sun recovery, body contouring, and muscle relief. This range of services allows the spa to accommodate everything from a restorative afternoon during a Maui vacation to a more structured wellness itinerary.

Next|Health Expands the Resort’s Longevity Services

Kai Holo Spa also builds upon Four Seasons Resort Maui’s collaboration with Next|Health, which began in 2021. A redesigned longevity center adjacent to the spa offers data-informed services intended to support recovery, performance, and long-term well-being. Available offerings include biomarker testing, vitamin infusions, IV therapy, and NAD+ treatments. The longevity menu also features health assessments and specialized testing, while hyperbaric oxygen therapy further expands the center’s advanced wellness options.

A Reimagined Fitness and Movement Program

FS Maui Kai Holo Spa - Fitness

The resort’s broader wellness transformation extends into a redesigned fitness center furnished with sandstone-colored Technogym equipment. Dedicated cardio and strength-training areas are joined by a stretching deck, body composition analysis, and personalized wellness assessments. A new infrared Movement Studio hosts yoga and Pilates reformer sessions, while outdoor TRX classes take advantage of Maui’s climate and natural setting. Custom doors in the fitness center can also be opened to allow tropical air into the space when weather conditions permit. Senior Spa Director Pat Makozak is curating additional wellness retreat programming scheduled to debut later in 2026. These retreats will expand the resort’s approach to wellness through more immersive, multiday experiences.
