LuxeGetaways Magazine – Fall/Winter 2017 | With this exciting opening happening in just weeks, LuxeGetaways was excited to get an inside look at Hotel Xcaret, which should be an amazing addition to this Riviera Maya region. Experiencias Xcaret Group, the visionaries behind the region’s most famous eco-amusement parks and tours, will debut this 900-suite, all-inclusive resort that promises “the best of Mexico” – along with a unique ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE® guest experience and locally sourced architecture and sustainable-first design. Hotel Xcaret will be the only resort with direct access to the region’s eight interactive parks, which offers everything from cave diving to nighttime jeep exploration. Guests will also enjoy premier services and amenities from start to finish; traditional and modernized Mexican cuisine at 11 different on-site restaurants; and accommodations personalized to each audience.

The Xcaret Difference

  • From equestrian shows to traditional Mayan dance performances, Experiencias Xcaret proudly highlights the very best of Mexican culture and artistry.
  • 11 restaurants and eight bars on property take guests on a culinary journey with a diversity of global flavors.
  • Hydrotherapy circuits and massage techniques borrowed from ancient Mayan practices create a stress-free zone for guests at the Muluc Spa.
  • Check-in is handled en route from the airport so guests are free to embark on their journey of personal transformation from the moment that they arrive.

The Tailored Accommodations

Hotel Xcaret is composed of five bespoke “Casas” – each of which cater to the needs of a different audience (adults-only, family-friendly, spa and wellness).

The Approach to Sustainability

Hotel Xcaret Mexico is the first hotel in the Americas to receive the EarthCheck Certification in Planning and Design. This certification is recognized for promoting architecture, construction, and projects fostering sustainability. Throughout the design and construction process, Hotel Xcaret has overcome challenges of not disturbing the natural surroundings. The overall project has included necessary land improvements, making it possible to respect the region during the construction process. The property will commit to offsetting its carbon footprint through efficient use of water and electricity. Through breeding and protection programs, the Experiencias Xcaret Group has already helped 10 million baby sea turtles reach the sea and has increased the local population of scarlet macaws by 55%, among other achievements. 80% of the property is sourced locally, from the furniture to the food, while only 20% is imported from outside sources.

Hotel Xcaret embraces nature, and it holds itself accountable to the highest sustainability standards. Dedicated to ecotourism, the hotel not only provides guests with unique experiences, but it also exposes them to locally sourced products, jungle trails, white sand beaches, hidden coves, and an eco-archaeological reserve. With intimate community ties dating back more than three decades, Xcaret is a family business that fosters creativity, tourism, and economic possibility in the Riviera Maya region. Today, the founding families still oversee the parks’ legacy through hands-on educational interaction, which connects guests with Mexico’s finest craftsmanship, entertainment, artistry, and gastronomy.

Looking to the future, Hotel Xcaret is the first stage of a 12-year project that will encompass a region of 370 hectares (914 acres). When completed, the destination will feature 6,000 hotel rooms, a convention center, retail development and 12,000 seat stadium – all integrated with Experiencias Xcaret Group products and services.
