According to sources, this dream team is excited about this buzz-worthy launch of a ‘6 Star’ hotel in Amsterdam; and with this already being home to so many great hotel properties today, LuxeGetaways is eager to see and hear more about this opening, and ultimately learn more about the guest experience. One of Holland’s most awarded hoteliers, Eric Toren is behind this opening, and has promised that Hotel TwentySeven will offer luxury design and services at a level that are unprecedented in The Netherlands. Will the hotel be able to deliver on all of these promises? To begin, we must look at the details that we now know regarding this new luxury hotel property…

Hotel TwentySeven is located in the heart of Amsterdam at Dam Square, opposite the Royal Palace. Scheduled to open at the end of October, Toren’s crème de la crème team consists of two star Michelin Master Chef Pascal Jalhay, the world’s best wine taster and sommelier Lendl Mijnhijmer, renowned architects, designers, the finest staff in hospitality and more.

Every inch, every surface and every corner of the lavish interior of the hotel is ordained in the richest, finest and most surreal design and atmosphere, directed and curated by award winning Dutch designers Wim van de Oudeweetering and Cris van Amsterdam.

The Experience Inside Hotel TwentySeven

Dedicated to creating a perfect hotel experience, the hotel will offer services such as private butlers, personal assistants, personal shoppers, personal trainers, ‘insider’ city tours etc. Furthermore, children receive more than just normal childcare – here, passionate childcare enthusiasts are available to enhance a child’s wonder with visits to museums, private art classes and learning new languages. No request is too large, or too small, for the service team.

A luxury hotel on all levels – from the exceptional and unique design detail to each carefully selected material, and to the artwork to the personalized services offered. While journalists and hospitality experts are touting the hotel as a 6-Star property, it is important to note that it has not yet been officially classified.

Hotel TwentySeven is located in the true center of Amsterdam, on Dam Square — the most significant square of the city, the heart of the historical center and home of the Royal Palace. The hotel has been very consciously and tastefully constructed into the iconic, monumental building of The Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club (Royal Industrial Club) where industry tycoons and entrepreneurs have come together for decades. The building has a rich history, and dates back to 1913. Hotel suites offer spectacular and completely soundproofed views over Dam Square, the Royal Palace, Rokin and the city center.

The hotel has 16-suites, ranging from 485 square feet up to the largest suite of 2,357 square feet, which includes 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 Jacuzzis and a private terrace of an additional 290 square feet.

Dining at Hotel TwentySeven

Hotel TwentySeven will be the home to the new restaurant, Bougainville, by Master Chef Pascal Jalhay. He is seen as one of the most innovative chefs of his generation. Jalhay’s former restaurant Vermeer was awarded two Michelin stars in less than two years, making him the youngest chef in the country to receive this honor. Bougainville will offer the finest gastronomic experience. Lendl Mijnhijmer, winner of the McNie Tasting Trophy 2016 for best wine taster of the world and named most talented sommelier 2017 by GaultMillau, will assist as wine director. Bougainville will be open to the public and to hotel guests.

The signature bar, made of specialty cut onyx, is headed by top award winning Mixologists and will feature a never been done before menu of discerning probiotic cocktails and more.

It’s All in the Details at Hotel TwentySeven

European hotelier of the year 2014 and European general manager of the year 2015, Eric Toren sees Hotel TwentySeven as a dream come true. His former hotel, The Toren, was named best hotel in The Netherlands by TripAdvisor for the past six consecutive years and has won numerous other awards, such as Best City Boutique Hotel in the World 2012 by Boutique Hotel Awards, Most Luxurious and Romantic Hotel in 2013 by World Luxury Hotel Awards and Best Boutique Hotel in Europe by Boutique Hotel Awards 2014. Toren is now raising the bar with Hotel TwentySeven, re-defining luxury in Amsterdam.

“Hotel TwentySeven is the most opulent sanctuary The Netherlands have to offer,” said Eric Toren. “Defying logic and re-defining luxury in Amsterdam, no detail has gone unnoticed.”

A small hint of the design detail in the hotel includes a grandiose hand-blown glass light sculpture chandelier that plummets from the sky light of the atrium through the center of the hotel, cascading 4 floors down. Limited editions of art are on display, and guests have access to private gallery events and viewings. Each suite has handmade carpets of silk sprawled over handmade wooden floors, grand bathrooms with sleek marble and mosaics, 2 person Jacuzzis, 2-person steam shower and touch screens for personalized mood lighting and atmospheric settings.
