I recently stayed at Carillon Miami, which I heard was the most innovative wellness resort in the United States. Of course, I was intrigued, as I do appreciate when resorts have a niche market. Themed resorts are increasingly emerging, I think, both to concentrate an offer now curated to a specific clientele, but also to stand out from the competition and have a stronger position in this competitive industry. That said, wellness resorts are becoming more popular than ever and I couldn’t wait to see what Carillon Miami had to offer since I enjoy combining vacation and wellness/fitness. I wasn’t disappointed.
Carillon Miami: An ideal location to unwind near Miami Beach
Carillon Miami is located on the quieter side of Miami Beach, along one of the longest beachfront stretches in the city. You can expect tranquil nights and a beach area where you can hear the sound of the waves. I love South Beach, don’t get me wrong, but it can sometimes be too crowded and overwhelming. I also cannot recall how many nights I spent looking at the clock hoping for the street noise to just stop so I could sleep. Nothing of that happens at Carillon Miami, which is located just outside of the action, without being too far. It is the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing getaway without compromising on the location. It’s precious to have the option to be in the action “only when you want to”.
Carillon Miami: Lifestyle apartments instead of hotel rooms
Another pleasant surprise when I arrived was that there are no hotel rooms per se at Carillon, only apartment-style accommodations. Therefore, you won’t be staying in a cramped hotel room but in your own luxury one or two-bedroom beachfront apartment that features a soothing and calming decor, floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize natural light, Frette linens for restful nights, a fully equipped kitchen and a large “spa-inspired” bathroom with a soaking tub to relax mind, body and soul. It’s nice to have space while staying in Miami Beach, and I could talk for hours about that soaking tub. Sheer liquid bliss!
Carillon Miami: The largest hotel spa on the East Coast
Interestingly enough, the five-star resort is home to the largest spa on the Eastern Seaboard (70,000 sq. ft.) and features a curated team of spa practitioners and Board-Certified physicians that offer multiple services and workshops. It’s basically: whatever you want, whenever you want. The spa is indeed very impressive, and a visit while staying at Carillon is a definite must. Through partnerships with revolutionary wellness brands, the resort offers out-of-the box spa services that feature the latest innovations and technologies in luxury skin care, anti-aging, and restorative rituals from around the world. Expect a European-inspired Hydrotherapy Circuit that includes tropical rain showers, herbal laconium and hot and cold hydrothermal therapy suites as well as signature and custom treatments such as massages on a Quartz bed, Salt Bath Floating Therapy, Tibetan Rituals, Halotherapy and Cryotherapy.
Furthermore, in response to the pandemic, Carillon Miami debuted touchless wellness services to keep guests safe while still providing personalized health benefits. In partnership with top wellness entrepreneurs from around the world, the new spa offerings feature innovative technology, and each of the result-driven touchless services addresses a range of issues from sleep health, anxiety, muscle recovery, weight loss, to spiritual wellness. Services include The Somadome, Prism Light Pod, V.E.M.I., Halotherapy, Cryotherapy, Salt Float Bath, Spa Wave, and Avacen. Brilliant!
Carillon Miami: An extensive fitness offer
If you want to keep moving during your stay, it’s going to be easy. An array of recreational activities are included and offered, with more than 65 fitness classes per week, cardio and strength training sessions, group classes including barre and yoga, without forgetting the two-story indoor rock-climbing wall, the (very cute) branded self-service bicycles while the bicycle/running path is just outside of the resort. The adult-only salted pool located on the rooftop is also very nice to enjoy the sunset and to end your day on a high note. You could literally include an hour or two of working out to your schedule per day during your stay, easily. Wellness Concierges are also available to help you build and arrange your schedule during your stay.

In addition to their extended and innovate spa and fitness offer, lovely beach club and perfect beach-front location, spacious loft-style accommodations, two gorgeous pools, top service, Carillon also caters a well-thought of food and beverage offer on property, with a coffee/take out counter (The Corner Store) that serves smoothies, specialty coffees and healthy to-go options all day, an on-site restaurant (The Strand) that serves Mediterranean inspired fresh market cuisine and features a large outdoor dining area.
