Looking for a unique and highly exclusive way to experience Burgundy? Late this summer, Belmond will introduce Marguerite, A Belmond Boat, offering a private, small-scale way to explore the region’s waterways. This unique vessel has been fully reimagined from the former Amaryllis and is designed as a four-suite floating villa accommodating just eight guests. It will operate exclusively as a private charter, allowing guests to shape their experience across itinerary, dining, and daily programming. The concept is centered on limited capacity, customization, and direct access to Burgundy’s cultural and culinary landscape.

Marguerite will join Les Bateaux Belmond, the brand’s collection of luxury river vessels operating across Burgundy, Provence, Champagne, and Bordeaux. Its introduction adds a new option within Burgundy for travelers seeking a more tailored way to explore the region. Itineraries are designed to travel along historic waterways while connecting guests to destinations such as Dijon and the vineyards that define Burgundy’s global reputation. Programming will include mustard-making workshops, private visits to historic châteaux, art-focused excursions, and guided access to wine estates. Additional experiences will include e-bike routes along the Route des Grands Crus and visits to local markets and producers.

The redesign draws from Burgundy’s marguerite fields, which inform both the vessel’s palette and decorative elements. Interiors incorporate soft yellow tones, floral motifs, and contemporary stained-glass accents developed in collaboration with French artisans. Furnishings and materials reflect an emphasis on regional craftsmanship, including contributions from specialists in stained glass and fine woodwork. The vessel is configured with four double suites, each with ensuite facilities, and a central salon serving as a shared space for guests. Outdoor features include an expansive deck with alfresco dining areas and a private plunge pool.

The culinary program will be developed under the direction of Michelin-starred Chef Dominique Crenn, establishing a clear point of view for the onboard dining experience. Menus will be customized for each charter and executed by an onboard private chef using seasonal ingredients and regional sourcing. Dining will take place both on board and through select off-vessel experiences, incorporating Burgundy’s broader culinary landscape. Wine programming will include exclusive tastings at a range of estates, from established producers to smaller properties. Private lunches at locations such as Château du Clos de Vougeot will also be included within select itineraries.
Each journey aboard the floating villa will be supported by a dedicated Guest Experience Executive, who will work directly with guests to tailor the itinerary to individual interests. This structure allows for flexibility across excursions, dining, and daily pacing throughout the charter. Marguerite will operate with a close crew-to-guest ratio, consistent with Belmond’s broader approach across its river fleet. With capacity limited to eight guests and availability structured around private charter, the vessel offers a highly controlled and customizable way to explore Burgundy.

Set to debut late summer 2026, Marguerite adds a new, small-format option for travelers seeking direct access to the region’s culture, cuisine, and landscape. Marguerite brings a new, small-format option to Burgundy, centered on a private eight-guest charter with fully customized itineraries. The experience is structured to provide direct access to the region’s culture, cuisine, and wine country through curated programming both on and off the water. Its introduction reflects a broader shift toward more intimate, design-driven travel experiences across established destinations.
