LuxeGetaways Magazine – Spring 2017 | Ms. Adrienne Arsht is often referred to as “Miami’s Savior,” and for good reason. Beyond rescuing the performing arts community with a $30 million gift to what is now known internationally as The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Ms. Arsht remains dedicated to preserving the performing arts community and the area’s rich history. With both pride and humility, Ms. Arsht says, “I’m truly honored to have this magnificent Center carry my name, and even find myself doing a double-take and laughing when I see my name also gracing the sides of the wastebaskets and the signs at the metro stop.”

Ms. Arsht calls Miami, Washington DC and New York City home, and works tirelessly with each of these communities to continue promoting their artistic, business and civic growth. This cherished business leader and very hands-on philanthropist maintains a balance of business expertise with her heart of gold. Ms. Arsht continues to give back to these communities in ways that they never knew were possible; and it is not just writing of a check, but rather looking at the big picture, and preparing for a better future.

When you have the opportunity to speak with Ms. Arsht, her love for Miami is apparent by the excitement in her voice and the numerous favorite things to do and see in the area. If only for a single day, a day in Miami with Adrienne Arsht is like no other day you will experience in this thrilling city of culture and exuberance. Ms. Arsht says, “I know I’m home when I arrive at the airport to see the beautiful brass fossil inlay done by local artist, Michele Oka Doner. And then when I’m departing, I wonder why I’m leaving at all.”

Ms. Arsht admits that she often entertains at her home while in Miami, as that is where she feels the most relaxed; and she loves ending the evenings with friends by the piano. However, she does have a number of favorite places to dine in the area, including these five unique Miami dining experiences.
