When looking for the most desirable destination for your perfect getaway, it becomes increasingly  difficult to satisfy everyone’s wishlist, or even your own desires for that matter. For couples looking for complete isolation, many of the Hawaiian islands offer a hidden paradise removed from the stress and rigor of everyday life. For others looking for a balance of fun and adventure combined with the best luxury travel and lifestyle has to offer, Oahu is a great destination for more than 4M visitors each year. Fantastic hotels, resorts, restaurants, spas, golf, polo and beaches await you.

Hawaii is always a fantasy destination filled with intrigue and fascination, though the lengthy flight often keeps travelers from indulging in all that these beautiful islands have to offer. Hawaiian Air is one of the providers that has great flight options, and it’s certainly a good time to either pay for the upgrade or use those mileage points to enjoy this flight in first class. Once in Oahu, your vacation options are endless, and with so many personal favorites, I’m simply going to feature a few of the many options available to you as you enjoy Oahu and the infamous Waikiki Beach

The hotel of choice this visit is the iconic Royal Hawaiian; part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection and often known as “The Pink Palace of the Pacific.” After their renovation only a few years ago, along with the addition of the modern tower rooms and suites, this is an ideal place to call home while enjoying the island luxuries of Oahu. With world-class dining, spa, pool and private beach services and their much-loved gold standard concierge services, The Royal Hawaiian leaves guests wanting for nothing.

The Hawaii Polo Club’s season is quickly approaching and sure to be a fantastic year as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Always a favorite for the social elite and those who simply adore the sport, The Hawaii Polo Club attracts the best players and ponies in the state and from around the world play to play this ‘sport of kings.’ If you are not able to enjoy one of premier events, they also offer amazing trail rides along the North Shore, so certainly worthy of a visit. www.Hawaii-Polo.org

Who can think of a luxurious Hawaiian getaway without at least a portion of your time dedicated to the lavish spa options available at many of the favorite hotels and resorts scattered throughout Oahu. Regardless of your age or gender, the possibilities are beyond your wildest imagination with amazing opportunities. When ready to make your reservations, consider my favorites:   The Kahala | Spa Halekulani | The Abhasa at Royal Hawaiian | Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village

Golf is always plentiful throughout the Hawaiian Islands, and provides some of the most thrilling layouts with sensational views as these lush fairways take you through a series of dramatic twists and turns. Within a rather short distance from the hotel, a variety of courses are available, and certainly one of my favorite activities while on Oahu. The quality of golf here is certainly some of the best in the world. There are several budget-friendly courses available on Oahu, but a few of my first choices for overall quality include: Hawaii Prince Golf Club | Royal Hawaiian Golf Club | Ko Olina Golf Club | Pearl Country Club

Once you’re on the island of Oahu, hotel and resort options are available to fit all budgets. The majority of Oahu’s hotels and resorts are in the immediate Waikiki area providing instant access to this famous strip of beach; other great options would be The Hilton Hawaiian Village, Trump International Waikiki and The Halekalani. I’m a fan of the Royal Hawaiian’s private beach with unbelievable services, but anywhere on this beach will provide hours of great people watching. Other quality choices for Oahu include The Kahala Hotel & Resort in east Honolulu, Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore and the J.W. Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on the Leeward Coast. A family favorite with exceptional reviews and amenities for kids of all ages is Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Again, options are available based on your budget – campsites, hostels, villa rentals and an abundance of budget-friendly hotels and inns are always accessible. It’s difficult to not fall in love with Hawaii, which is why they can say with confidence, “A hui hou kakou,” meaning “Until We Meet Again.” Enjoy your very own Hawaiian getaway!
